I’m excited to share that today marks our most successful Indianapolis Lemonade Day yet. ChaCha was a proud sponsor of the Lemonade Day 2011 program. I hope many children that you have (or know) were able to participate.
I wanted to especially offer my humble thanks to Jami Marsh for her role in bringing Indianapolis Lemonade Day to life. Great job, today and for the past year, getting prepared for Lemonade Day 2011 in Indianapolis. With over 10,000 stands this year, it was great to hear dozens (hundreds?) of stories like the one below. This is a program that will have impacts and paybacks in the community for years to come. It was gratifying to watch many of these kids transform into budding entrepreneurs. And now they get to “spend some” of their proceeds on themselves (i.e. know that they can control their own destiny more than they thought they could before this experience), “save some” in their bank account, and “share some” with charities, as in the note below.
Congratulations on another successful year of Lemonade Day!
Here’s the message from a Lemonade Day mom:
Thank you so much for supporting Lemonade Day! My daughter, Avery, participated for the first time this year and after jumping through many hoops to find a location, acquire the necessary insurance and permits, I am pleased to say that Avery collect $135.93 in sales and donations. As we completed the Entrepreneur Workbook, we were very proud of Avery when she shared with us that she wanted all proceeds to be donated to Susan G Komen Foundation since her grandmother had recently been diagnosed with breast cancer. I cannot thank you enough for bringing this incredible concept to children of all ages. I look forward to partnering with Derek Clay at Hummel Park in Plainfield next year to ensure that ALL kids who want to participate next year, can!
