Wine Cellar

Another of the great additions to the Jones residence is the elegant wine cellar. Featuring a stunning entranceway, a granite mosaic floor and a climate-controlled environment, this state-of-the-art wine-storage chamber will hold more than 2,000 bottles.
The custom entranceway was created after Scott described his concept of it. The builder found a photo of a wine cellar door used in a medieval castle. Although Mr. Jones' round wine cellar required a curved door and the one in the photo was flat, the highly skilled artisan who built the room managed to adapt the medieval entrance with its gothic oak door and the stone frame around it for the wine cellar.
Having the wine cellar adjacent to the great room makes it easy to have wine tastings. To provide easy access to the top bins, a ladder swings all the way around the wine cellar. An individual HVAC unit located in the basement crawl space controls not only the temperature in the wine cellar, but also the humidity.
