OpenGlobe

OpenGlobe was one part technology, one part entertainment, and two parts commerce.

The Escient Technologies, LLC affiliate was at the juncture of next generation home entertainment, Internet and e-commerce, creating new revenue models for established consumer electronics and personal computer manufacturers.

OpenGlobe offered global brand-name manufacturers powerful new ways to leverage digital technologies and network services. OpenGlobe revolutionized what used to be a one-time hardware transaction into an ongoing, profitable relationship with the consumer, while providing a richer, multi-dimensional entertainment experience.

OpenGlobe and Escient Convergence merged shortly before being sold in 2003 and becoming Escient®, a division of Digital Networks North America, Inc. (DNNA), a wholly owned subsidiary of D&M Holdings U.S., Inc. D&M stands for Denon and Marantz.
