Master Suite

Only Scott, a few family members, and some staff members can gain access to his ultra-secure master bedroom suite. To unlock the door, authorized people need to look into a special device, that verifies their iris print. Inside, Scott has perhaps the most sophisticated morning alarm ever developed. Unlike the average nightstand unit, which plays music or buzzes, Scott's system is programmed to open the curtains, turn on lights and music, and even start the morning shower.

Inside the master suite is a compact, but powerful, home theater, equipped with much of the state-of-the-art technology available in his Digital Palace. Included are the latest in digital audio and video equipment, with access to enormous online databases of information about music and movies. Scott also has a stationary bicycle, which comes equipped with a laptop computer so that he can check e-mails and keep in touch with important projects while conducting his workouts. (In the life of Scott Jones, seldom is a minute wasted.)

Housed within the master bathroom is one of the home's most unique features, an incredible waterfall shower. Although sharing the master bath's 1900's look, the therapeutic waterfall shower was designed with conservation in mind. The 300 gallons of water per minute streaming from the shower's metal heads are sanitized, stored in a holding tank in the basement, and recycled over and over. The water is replaced when appropriate, just as hot tubs cycle their water periodically. The sanitizing process uses an ultra-violet-light disinfecting system for the holding tank in the basement.

For a more sedate bathing experience, the master bathroom also features a brass bathtub. The home's turn-of-the-century look needed a master bathtub as a worthy companion to the awesome waterfall shower. Scott chose a solid-brass "King's Bathtub." Made in Germany, it weighs more than 3,000 pounds. During the remodeling, special reinforcements were added to the floor to support the weight of the tub.
