Additional Features
The Jones residence also includes a dining room with the original leaded-glass windows and a fireplace, a huge breakfast room that doubles as a second dining room, a state-of-the-art kitchen, seven (7) bedrooms, seven (7) full bathrooms, seven (7) half baths, one dog shower, a custom-designed swimming pool, a lush waterfall on a hill on the front lawn, and a spectacularly lit fountain just in front of the house.
Two elevators span three floors. One elevator was installed in 1938. The other larger elevator was installed in 2000.
Future plans include the replacement of the current kidney-shaped swimming pool with a larger indoor/outdoor pool incorporated into a pool house with a fitness center and Japanese Ryokan. The proposed design includes disappearing walls.
The Jones residence is not only a unique addition to the Indianapolis community, but also one of America's greatest examples of a high-tech home, even though most of the technology is cleverly hidden in the English country manor. In addition to showcasing new technologies and trends, the house has been the location of numerous community functions. Events at the house have raised money for the Indiana Community Cancer Care Foundation and for the Sycamore private school. The house also serves as a meeting place for members of the Indiana Technology Partnership and other civic organizations.
The home's restoration, renovation and huge addition provided compelling challenges to the many people who worked on the project. The Jones family is grateful for their many hours of hard work and attention to detail and for providing them with a truly unique and comfortable home in which they can play, work, and entertain guests for many years to come.
