  2. This happens to be a very accurate tool. Not only did it get my pronounciation correct, it had delivered an answer that was absolutely desirable! Brilliant tool! You can use this for ANYTHING.

    Best of Luck!

  3. Hello, Mr. Jones my name is Tyler and I am doing a DECA project on Cha Cha. This phone number is a great resource! I would like to be in further contact with you and possibly arrange a quick phone interview to help me out with my project. Please email me soon. Thank you, best of luck to Cha Cha,

  4. Wow! I am impressed. Mostly all of my experiences with voice recognition services have been terrible, but not tonight. It understood me on the first try and sent the correct question to my phone when they notified me of it being worked on. Only problem is 16 minutes later I still have no answer to the simple question, “What is the weather in Indianapolis, IN?”

Anyhow I am sure the service will be great once kinks are worked out.

    Great stuff.

  5. In short, it just works. Try it… it’s very cool, as noted here:

  6. It works well, no issues with it, and it’s a good way to approach the phone aspect of this.

Think about this - what if there’s an industry in which you can take the service just one step further with a strategic partnership allowing you to monetize on every call related to that field?

One minor bug - I had cleared my throat while it was talking initially, and it asked if that was my question.

  7. One more comment - sometimes it’s a phone call that changes the world, at least that’s how it was described to me by someone in the grapevine.

  8. Since my genius lies more in the writing field and in inspiration I’d say the tagline, “The phone number that changed the world” is good, though not monumental.

As a Text Guide and itinerant observer of the “human condition” I can see clearly enough the prospects of this new, revolutionary service.

As a Guide, too, I have a good account of what users are seeking, not always factual or exact information. A few are just seeking a voice on the other end, perhaps a quick-witted remark, a bit of home-spun inspiration. Perhaps a few words to bring a smile, a few words that convey the message: “Yes, you are important!”

I see ChaCha as an answer to not only seeking quick facts or information but perhaps as a tool to help bring humans closer, after all we as humans still need and desire “connectedness,” the very reason “social networks” are such hot properties in this “sometime isolating,” technologically advanced age.

242242 has the ability to provide not only great answers but great incentives. As a marketing tool, I too, see clearly the prospects.

“Oftentimes the treasures we seek are near enough the heart that it doesn’t take more than a heartbeat to uncover the most precious gems of all.”

  9. Voice Recognition is, though, robotic and may be great in many situations but not all. As I had iterated on my previous comment, we as humans still have inherent needs to connect via neurons versus electrons.

Of course, it may be quicker to voice a query or opinion via voice than via fingers (keyboard), but the real test is how the answer or reply is delivered and more importantly, the content of the package being delivered.

ChaCha is wide open for various channels and it does, in my eyes, have the ability to provide utility to a very wide demographic.

  10. Scott, this addition with phone would be a perfect tourism tool for prospective vacationers…very quick answers, …..and could be funded by those benefitting from incoming tourism traffic and spending! I think the tagline should be..”You’ve got my number…”

  11. Scott,

You are now my new HERO!!! I am a fashion designer living and working in New York City and and preparing to embark on a very scary journey as my firm, Mal Sirrah (Changing the World - One Dress at a Time), sets out to become the very first “sustainable luxury” brand to hit the market. I truly do believe that ChaCha is also the first “sustainable luxury” search engine to hit the market - with a much larger future scope than Google and/or any of their predecessors. I actually have goosebumps typing this…

Scott, as a luxury consumer and provider, I know that from now on I will use ChaCha for two reasons - firstly it is such a cool and forward way of looking at search engines, and secondly (and most importantly) I know that every time I conduct a search via ChaCha it goes to an individual (student, housewife, eventually villager) that somewhere down the line is being paid by a well respected visionary by the name of Scott Jones…

It is my new mission to spread the word(s) - CHA CHA!!!

p.s. maybe we can collaborate on a project in the near future… If you think the movie industry is exciting, wait until you get a load of fashion (i know i’m a small fish now - but trust me when I tell you that very soon I will be a “contendere”)

  12. :o It could even understand my accent (Brazilian).
I haven’t got the answer yet, but I got two text messages already confirming the phone call. And while I’m typing now…. I got the answer (poor answer). But VERY VERY GOOD and BRILLIANT system (No words to describe it,). (Voice recognition, interface, time response, etc…). Congratulations again!!! The Title should be “the phone number that WILL change the world!

By Fabiano on Mar 16, 2008

  13. The phone number that changed the world is a description not a mantra.

For every word that is needed to describe a business multiply it by x factor to the cost of branding.
(this is the formula I use)

e.g. Who, what and where! Three words max!

You hit a triple on the dart board but not a bullseye of what the phone number should do.

How would a focus group respond if given the 3 top things they would use this service for.

A catch all ask ??? phone number maybe later but not until people know you. The old keep it simple not because people are stupid but because they are not you or inbreed into a company knowing what its for, if that makes sense. What you can do, do it right now and only if it’s the best. Not okay as the trade off of offering too much too soon.

Also, the core user is mobile and cellular. So go to a city that you have never been to and what would you need help finding?

I visit Carmel Indiana and I know what I am looking for and not a Starbucks because any wrong turn will lead me there.

Enough said for now and all the best.

  14. Hi,

Glad to see the improvements and now if I am driving around as if I am new to a city I can call.

The 1-800-2ChaCha right on and saved a bunch of money and more effective to market the brand.

I guess my mantra comments of who, what and where, a little uncomfortable to post but that’s okay and for what its worth really like seeing ChaCha getting polished up.

I am not sure if anybody there looks or knows about this site but this is a great place to constantly take the temperature of what is going on with search.

Also, there are two things I would suggest looking in to but a little bored because commenting one way.
    Oh well…

    All the best,
